Kia Ora Club Members
Congratulations to Ryan Nelsen - captain of our All Whites and this week named in a World XI following the completion of the FIFA 2010 World Cup Finals. This is a HUGE accolade for NZs highest paid sportsperson and totally deserved. Not only is this guy the real deal on the field, he is refreshingly humble and affable off the field - this is what a real role model should be like. We are real lucky to have him and wow don't it make you SO proud to be a Kiwi !
Congratulations to the Thirsties and the Wolves on their winning of their respective mens football leagues. Congrats also to the Womens Football Team on their win last Sunday over Massey Reserves (who happen to be coached by Brian MacMillan who also coaches the Thirsties !!)
Red Sox Idol #4 - whilst the inspiration for this event came from the TV show, the A's have made your annual Club event into an Art Form. This nite has over its past 3 years produced some absolutely stunning performances - Red Sox has Talent - See it to Believe it ! Apologies for the confusion caused by the wrong ticket priced in last weeks newsletter - Tickets are $10 ea (Deliberate mistake to find out how many were reading the newsletter - Good News - HEAPS !)
The Club AGM is usually scheduled for the first Thursday in October - just 11 weeks away. As always your Club needs fresh blood for its Committee and there are some key positions likely to be available. As well as helping your Club this can also be a great personal development opportunity. Give it some thought and if not for you, then encourage someone who you think might be of value and be interested.
The Club Members Draw last Saturday night was again NOT won - Andy Sievwright from the 1929s Mens Football Team was absent, so it jackpots this week to $350. Remember you can win just by being at the clubrooms from 6-7pm ! |

RED SOX IDOL - ELIMINATION KARAOKE - SATURDAY 24 JULY
Your Club has some great Events and this one is right up there. The Mens A's Football team host this annual event and do a great job - setting up a wee stage platform, smoke screens, judging panels - the complete package.
Tickets @ $10 ea are now available - contact any member of the A's Team
There will be a light supper and a Courtesy Van - bookings from midday as below
This is a great night not to be missed - the Talent on display is awesome and some of the performances have been spellbinding . . . remember Minty in Year 1, Virge doing Freddie and Waynes Holly Holy anthem !

As usual a 12 seater courtesy van will be available for travel to and from the Clubrooms for the Red Sox Idol Nite. Cost is $5 per person. Bulk rates can be negotiated with the driver where a number of people are going to the same destination. Bookings can be made from 12 noon on Saturday
