Netball:
# CONGRATULATIONS to the A1's on their tremendous come-from-behind last minute 1 goal win against Freybery OG, meaning they are now undefeated in rounds 1 & 2. The Premier Grade 2 final (vs Freyberg !!) is believed to be scheduled for 6:00pm Tuesday 11 September indoor at the Arena (TBC).

# League games continue for our remaining 4 teams next Saturday.
# Sam advises that we may have 2-3 new netball teams next year - discussions are in progress apparently - Good News !!
Soccer:
3 teams in formal games this weekend:
# the Mens 1sts play Petone 2pm at Memorial Park in Petone in the 2nd leg of their home-away series to determine who will play-off against Team Taranaki for a spot in the 2008 Central League. Unfortunately the 1st leg game was a 4-1 loss so the boys have a huge battle on their hands but we wish them well and safe travelling

# the Youth team get to play the postponed game from last Saturday in the semi-finals of the Charity Cup against Massey Staff at Massey
# likewise, PlumbTech get top play their postponed 1st round game against Birdcage Plunderers in the Bill Dyer Memorial Trophy
# the FATHERS DAY CHARITY BLOOD MATCH held on Sunday saw approx 100+ players and spectators have a great time enjoying the Juniors and Seniors games . . . . click here for Photos

# the Club Youth U19 Team had 2 useful games last Saturday at Ashhurst against the RSM Rep Team and NZ Army. This was their 1st games in preparation for the Upper Hutt Tournament being held the 1st weekend in October |

From time to time in your Club newsletter we will publish a picture of Club Players and Supporters. If that person is in attendance at the Clubrooms the following Saturday for the weekly Club Prizegiving with their team AND they can answer a sports trivia question they will qualify for a prize using the "Irish Raffle System". FATHERS DAY - BLOOD MATCH - SUNDAY 2 SEPTEMBER
Another Red Sox Event success story - Thanks for the Support !
The inaugural Fathers Day Charity Soccer 'Blood Match' was held for both Juniors and Seniors and what a great family fun day it was for all involved. After looking bleak early in the morning, the weather was perfect as were the ground conditions. Thanks to all who attended for the support of the NZ Blood Service - the day was to raise awareness of their ongoing need for donors, especially at this time of year. Thanks also to generous support from RadioWorks (The Breeze & MoreFM), Watson Real Estate, Manawatu Standard, Milson SuperSeven, Nigel Barker Sounds & BBQ, Ground Crew - Jeff Triggs & Stu Phillips, Central Soccer - Dave Lawrie & Ref Douglas Cresswell, YoungHeart Manawatu's Shane Rufer and Debra & Alan from the local office of the NZ Blood Service.
Players from various local Junior & Senior Clubs particpated and helped to make the day one of great fun and greater memories ! Slainte !
