YOUNGHEART MANAWATU
The 2006/07 season for YoungHeart is about to kickoff and new Coach Shane Rufer has an exciting squad lining up, with a large number returning from last seasons extremely successful team. You may be aware from recent media articles, that NZ Soccer have extended for another 3 years (starting Season 2007/08) the NZFC franchise licences for 7 of the 8 current franchisees. YoungHeart Manawatu have been deemed to have not met some off-field management AND finance criteria and have been invited to:
(a) submit an expression of interest within the next week
(b) submit a full application for a franchise licence for the 3 years, which will be considered along with applications from other applicants, which are likely to be: Eastern Suburbs (Auckland), Western Suburbs (Wellington - i.e. Ole Academy) & Gisborne City.
This is a most disappointing situation and the challenge will be huge as the financial resources of these other likely applicants are reknowned.
As a founding member of the franchise and having taken a lead role in acquiring the franchise licence in the first place, Red Sox Manawatu is totally committed to doing whatever needs to be done to help secure the franchise extension.
The basic problem for YoungHeart is sustainable funding ! How can YOU Help ?
The franchise is in URGENT need of individual, business and corporate sponsors.
The simplest from of assistance is to join the YoungHearts Club which entails a commitment of $500pa for 3 years and earns you:
2 season passes, replica playing shirt & access to corporate lounge !
If you or your business are interested in helping then please contact in the first instance your Club members shown below, who can advise on how your interest can be progressed.
