RED SOX MANAWATU SPORTS CLUB The following chart shows how the Club has got to its current position, from a football perspective, arising from the many Clubs of the past. The oldest of these previous Clubs appears to be St Andrews AFC which started in the early 1900's and would make Red Sox Manawatu one of the oldest Soccer Clubs in NZ. St Andrews used to train in a paddock in Church St opposite the site of the old Police Station and between St Andrews Church and the old Club Hotel. Saturday games were mainly played at North Street up to the 1960's and the old wooden grandstand at that ground is still in use today by PNBHS.
